peanut noodles
Chinese cuisine has always been shrouded in mystery. Some dishes (like dog’s meat) became nearly legendary (from the point of view of an average Westerner). Most of the Chinese meals however are fairly ‘normal’ and simple. One of the best examples are peanut noodles. It is also something you can easily make at home.

As an adventures eater you simply love trying new unusual things. You realize however that you can’t survive on those ‘adventures’ alone. Those kind of thrilling experiences are fun when they are done in moderation (just from time to time). On daily basis you definitely prefer to eat something relatively ‘normal’ for a dinner. Noodles are always a safe choice. Some are better than others, but you’ve never encountered ones that would be downright bad.

One of your favorite kinds are peanut noodles. That is a very simple dish. Sauce is what makes the flavor special. It consists of peanut butter, soy sauce, vinegar, oil, ginger, garlic, and a little bit of sugar. Since all those ingredients can be easily obtained in a Western supermarket you can try making those noodles yourself. If you’re in China you can buy them nearly anywhere for the price as cheap as 3-4RMB.

Bon appetite!
